Happy Thanksgiving!
I’m back with a few beers tonight as I sit here in the living room, watching the news, and doing some reading.
I’ll start with the Wolfe’s Neck IPA from Maine Beer Company!
This one is super fresh. The bottle says it was bottled on the 10th of November.
I checked out the review of this one before I bought it to see what it had going for it and it has strong ratings and my favorite IPA word: “piney”!
Let’s start with what this one looks like.
The color is great. A nice golden color. It isn’t an unfiltered beer, but you can’t see through it.
On the nose, a nice hoppy smell. And, a good tall head.
Now what’s this sucker taste like?
You get the pine! Not in huge amounts, but you do get some pine.
You also get some tropical fruit which is the hop smell that was coming through on the nose.
This one is pretty easy drinking. I ended up pushing through this one pretty quickly.
I will say as the beer warmed up on the table, the flavors came out and the citrus fruits started to come out a lot more.
On the whole, I like this one.
I’m going with an 88.
I’ll be back with some Other Half Brewing beers soon.
Maine Beer Lunch is good too.
